Sharing Important Health Documents with our Client Portal

At Total Wealth Planning, we are available as a resource for our clients and their family members, not only for their financial affairs, but also in the case of certain health matters. Especially during the current environment, with much uncertainty and fear around COVID-19, now is a good time to plan ahead in the case of a health event.

As a client, you are likely aware that you have access to an online portal, where you can review your investment allocation and performance, as well as storing and retrieving important documents such as tax returns and estate planning documents. A new feature available is the ability to share documents on of your choice with others. Documents you may want to consider sharing with a loved one are your Health Care Provider of Attorney and Living Will. In the event of a medical emergency, through the portal, the person you have designated can retrieve the necessary documents and share them immediately with hospitals and medical experts before hanging up the phone. Alternatively, if someone has designated you as their power of attorney, you can store their documents in your portal to have them available when the need arises.

Another key component is the ability to share bank account information and various passwords. If an unexpected illness or other medical emergency prevents you from being able to pay your monthly bills, providing this type of information to your family member can prove invaluable at a stressful time.

Either way, quick access to these documents can help bring comfort and peace of mind during a stressful time, and help ensure no delays are involved when expediency of information can be most helpful.

At Total Wealth Planning we help our clients every day answer these important and at times stressful questions. Who’s helping you?

Financial planning is complex and requires the guidance of a trusted and experienced advisor, such as a fee-only Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®), who plans comprehensively, and with a complete understanding of your particular concerns and goals in life.
