The Goering Center for Family and Private Business announced the list of semi-finalists for their annual local business awards. Total Wealth Planning is proud to announce that we have made the list for the second year in a row.
The Goering Center is based at the University of Cincinnati. Its mission is to nurture and educate local family and private businesses, with the intent of driving a vibrant regional economy. The Goering Center offers a wide range of services, training, and resources to local family and private businesses. Popular programs include strategic planning and leadership institutes, symposiums, business board training, and much more.
The Goering Center Family and Private Business Awards recognize some of the most successful privately-owned companies in the Cincinnati area. Awards are based on a number of factors, including the company’s growth in the previous year, major breakthroughs that the business experienced, and the company’s involvement in supporting the community.
A maximum of 75 businesses are named as semi-finalists, so it’s an honor to be recognized in any form. Total Wealth Planning was chosen as a semi-finalist based on our breakthrough in developing a “family first” culture in our office. That extends to our clients, employees, and strategic partners. Our mission is to develop meaningful, long-lasting relationships with our clients and their families, so we can help them achieve their goals across multiple generations.
We’ve also implemented a family-first approach internally. We encourage our team members to keep their workload to less than 50 hours per week. We offer generous profit sharing contributions so all employees participate in the team’s success. And we strive to provide our team with the tools and resources they need to take care of their family and and support their community.
Our award application also highlighted our participation in Cincinnati’s vibrant business community. While the Queen City is home to major corporations, like Cintas and Proctor and Gamble, it’s also home to a robust network of thriving privately-owned businesses. We’re privileged to work with some of Cincinnati’s most successful small businesses as both clients and partners.
The Goering Center Family and Private Business Awards gala will be held on September 12th, 2017. At Total Wealth Planning, we are hopeful to be named a finalist, but we are also thrilled to be recognized as a semi-finalist alongside some of Cincinnati’s finest privately-owned businesses.
