The National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA) is the country’s leading professional association of Fee-Only financial advisors—highly trained professionals who are committed to working in the best interests of those they serve. The professional consortium started in 1983 when a group of advisors wanted to serve their clients without muddling the relationship with commissions. Since those origins, the community has grown and developed high standards in the field that each member advisor must sign and renew. For example, a Fiduciary Oath (link this to our internal fid oath) yearly and subscribe to a refreshing Code of Ethics. The association provides support and education for over 3,800 practitioners all over the country and is governed by an elected Board of Directors and four Region Boards filled by active volunteer members.
